The Philippines is the Sixth Country in the ASEAN Tourists

Within countries that are inside of the ASEAN, the Philippines is the sixth country in number of tourists among all countries of this area of the world, so we are faced with a situation really very good for this country. The truth is that Philippines leads climbing positions for some years and today is one of the reference countries for many tourists who travel for the Asian continent, in particular by the countries that are within of the ASEAN in Asia.

This year 2011 Philippines aims to maintain this sixth position and greatly improve to reach the figure of 4 million tourists in the coming years. Still much to be done in this regard so that the Philippines may have more millions of tourists who enjoy its charming beaches and have the opportunity to enjoy with all its natural charms, but for now is a pretty good figure for the country’s economy and in particular is very positive for hotels and other tourist facilities in the Philippines. Honda Bay

Honda Bay
Honda Bay is a large bay with numerous islands and shallow reefs bordering beautiful beaches where you can swim or dive in a tropical paradise. It is an interesting day trip from Puerto Princesa. Access to the bay is from the pier of St. Tagbanua Lourdes, 12 km from Puerto Princesa, and to reach it you can take a multicab (minibus) with the inscription St. Lourdes at the junction of the main road Avenida Rizal (costs 20 P). Once on the landing to go to the small tourist office in it and hire the bangka to tour the islands of the bay. There is a minimum rates are preset and P 1180 for a tour of a maximum of 3 islands to choose from. We must also pay 18 port P rates. Finally it should be noted that some of the islands have to pay, in theory, entry to land and stay on the island (25 P Pandan Island or 40 P in the Starfish, for example), although we we do not pay either. A taxi with a meter from the center of Cebu City to the airport cost us P 170 and it took about 45 minutes because of some monumental jams on the road. After paying the 200 P-rate airport boarded the Cebu Pacific flight to Puerto Princesa, Palawan (this flight we had bought days earlier in Vigan ). The Philippines is also experiencing a problem many people in urban areas due to lack of jobs in rural areas and high birth rates.

Genting Hong Kong the world’s third largest cruise line operator and a member of the Malaysian conglomerate Genting Berhad. With the number of hotel rooms available and planned, the AGI RWM expect foreign visitors to reach 800,000 within the next three years, which can translate to acceptance of tourists at least $ 1 billion.

Direct and indirect employment is also expected to increase from 8,000 currently to 25,000 in the same period.

AGI is committed to aggressively develop the tourism business because of its focus in line with government’s drive to increase tourist arrivals in the country and expand the impact of the tourism industry throughout the economy, Sian said.

Last year, AGI posted a net profit of P4.8 billion, 23 percent higher than the P3.9 billion reported in 2008 on strong output across most business units. Consolidated revenues increased eight percent to P38.8 billion, of which 46 percent came from real estate development business, 41 percent of the consumer business and the remainder from other income.

AGI has a stake in the consumer industry through Emperador distiller Inc., which produces labels Emperador and Generoso brandy, and the newly introduced Bar flavor alcoholic beverages, and Golden Arches Development Corp., the master franchise holder of McDonald’s in the Philippines.
