Territorial Dispute Between the Philippines and China
Currently the situation in the Philippines and China is really tense, all due to both countries have a series of discussions on what corresponds to each of the countries in the South China Sea, which is a place of great importance by the deposits of oil and to a lesser extent is important for maritime transport. This dispute can not be elevated to an extreme extent, the truth is that the Governments of both countries met to defuse the situation.
It is logical that two countries spent territory with mineral wealth as it is the case of the China Sea and therefore both Governments will discuss this topic so that it can reach an agreement, it is a territory that needs to be distributed in a consistent manner so that both countries could end up conforming. China first has claimed throughout the area, while countries like the Philippines, Taiwan or Viet Nam want to small portions of this territory.
Provided that this is an area where there is oil, natural gas and is also of great importance to maritime transport, often conflicting someplace. China knows it has to give in part so that the Philippines and other countries can have some of the South China Sea or give some compensation to change. We’ll see if this meeting between the two countries can relieve or not, that it has reached a really difficult point to reach an agreement among all.
