Easter Comes to The Philippines 2011

One of the places in which Easter is celebrated in a somewhat special is in the Philippines, a country with Catholic roots and therefore is a country in which every year comes Easter. Holy Week 2011 comes as always with some traditions somewhat peculiar in comparison with the traditions of other countries. At certain points of the Philippines is very usual to represent the crucifixion of Christ in a real way, and represents the time in which Christ is beaten with a whip.
Usually there are some parts of the Philippines in which the Good Friday brings out a bloody tradition, especially because it is the day that a number of people were crucified, and receive lashes, as actually happened with Jesus. It’s a way to remember the life of Jesus and feel the suffering that was before he was crucified on the cross, a rather delicate moment for the person who is crucified, and that the suffering that is submitted is really important.
Not exactly the best way to enjoy Easter, but it is a very popular tradition in some parts of the Philippines, while the rest of the country is the week Sana in a similar way to other destinations Catholics in the world with processions and other traditions. No doubt the Easter of the Philippines is one of the most controversial of the world and each year always attracts attention.
