The story goes that before the arrival of the Spanish in Negros in 1565, there was already a small village near the river mouth Magsungay. It was a small village inhabited by Malays, who belonged to the Taga-Ilog.
When the neighboring settlement of Bogo (now the city of Bago), was elevated to the status of a small town in 1575, there were already several religious units, one of whom was the town of Magsungay.
The first missionaries who came to town Magsungay sometime in mid 1700, he was placed under the care and protection of San Sebastian. A “magistrate” of Luis Fernando de Luna (1777-1779), donated a relic of St. Sebastian for a mission that every time he got older, and since then the town became known as “San Sebastian de Magsungay.”

Boracay Island
Boracay Island is one of the best in the entire Philippine archipelago. And it was declared the most beautiful island in the world.
